Let’s think of DNS (domain name system) as the Internet’s phonebook.  It translates the URLs we type into our computer keyboards into the IP addresses that computers use to access web sites.

Created over 35 years ago, it didn’t have security or privacy in mind.  Today, with the pandemic resulting in increasing numbers of people working from home (with little evidence of this changing any time soon), outside the security of the business network, this lack of security poses a challenge for network administrators more than ever before.
